Dr. Robert McQuillan is a Consultant in Emergency Medicine with over 35 years of clinical and academic experience. Based at Blackrock Clinic in Dublin, he offers independent, expert medical reports for legal proceedings, insurers, and claimants.
Career
Dr. McQuillan was Head of the Emergency Department at St. Vincent’s University Hospital for over 30 years. He was a founding member of the Irish Association for Emergency Medicine (IAEM) and delivered the prestigious Leo Vella Lecture in 2014. He has broad clinical experience, having initially qualified as a surgeon with training in orthopaedic, plastic, hand, paediatric, cardiothoracic and neurosurgery, before specialising in Emergency Medicine. His Senior Registrar Emergency Medicine training was completed in Nottingham and Derby. His academic contributions include early trauma case research, sports injury analysis, and protocol development for emergency departments in Ireland.
Now operating exclusively as a medico-legal consultant, Dr. McQuillan applies his experience to provide:
